About Me

My name is Ms. Yost and I have been teaching history for 19 years. Among the classes I have taught at the Middle and High School level are: West Virginia History, World Geography, Honors World History, U.S. Contemporary Studies, A.P. U.S. History, Honors Civics and Regular Courses of World, U.S. Contemporary Studiees and Civics. 

I have attended two both Concord University. in Athens, WV and Radford University ,in Radford, Virginia as an Undergraduate student. My undergraduate degress include: B.S. Interdisciplinary Studies and B.S. Education Social Studies 5-12. As a Graduate Student, I received my Master of Science in Educational Leadership with a minor in Human Resources at Strayer University in Washington, D.C. I also attended Walden University pursuing an EdD in Administrative Leadership from 2011 to 2015. 

As the Sponsor of the PVHS National Honors History Club chapter, I have traveled with my club members to Washington, D.C., Charleston, South Carolina, Asheville, N.C., Charleston, WV and White Sulpher Springs, WV. 

I enjoy assisting with many activities and events at PVHS which include: Faculty Hiring Committee, Technology Team, Social Studies Textbook Committee, Senior and Underclassmen Awards, Prom Committee, Athletic Ticket Collection, A. P. Training, Fundraising, and assisting with FAFSA night events.

My interests are traveling, hiking, shopping, collecting lighthouses, reading, working Sudoku and puzzles, and family geneology. I alove my family and am a Mother to one Daughter, Laura. I am a lover of dogs and currently have 4: Reagan, Jacob, Theodore, and Bucky. Their breeds are Labrador, American Bully, and a Mix Breed Jack Russell. 

I enjoy traveling and have been to Canada and many U.S. states.
